What Came Before Nettlemouth? A good question...

Then Came Marching
"Nettlemouth is a term given to those who speak out against the government. Some see it as a disturbance, others see it as a blessing. I for one, see it as a blessing."
Driven
For a while I have been messing around doing my own music using mainly synthesizers and drums but then on August 2005 there was a competition in a magazine to create a 3min song for a promotional video for a rally car company, the winner would have their song used for the company and would get a test drive in one of the rally cars for a day so I took up the challenge. After slaving away for 2 weeks on the song it was completed but due to a technical problem the song got deleted and I had to rush to do another one but unfortunately I missed the deadline. So there I was with a finished song which had given me a sense of achievement and a great deal of satisfaction. You see, no one had been that interested in my other songs so I didn't think that sharing it would be a wise thing to do. However I did know a few people who I thought would enjoy the song so let them listen and they really liked it!
It was that which gave me confidence and pride in my music and is the reason I went on to continue. I decided that I didn't want Nettlemouth to be restricted to just on style/genre, I felt (and still feel) that every genre is great in it's own way, each genre deserves respect, each genre has the ability to connect with people in different ways and make them want to listen.
